Storm cleanup starts with what is on the ground. A tornado or straight-line winds leave trees down across the drive and limbs piled through the yard. We cut that material into pieces, grab it with the grapple and load it on the dump trailer. The drive and the lot open back up.

Downed trees get cut into pieces the grapple can handle. Limbs, brush piles and debris scattered across a yard or a field get picked up the same way. Everything that has to leave the property goes out on the dump trailer.

A storm and the cleanup after it both tear up the ground. Ruts, gouges and soft spots are common once the debris is gone. From there we can come back to grading the ground back smooth with the skid steer.
Often enough that most people here have a storm story. On March 28, 2020, an EF3 tornado tracked about 12 miles through Jonesboro. It damaged hundreds of buildings. On December 10, 2021, an EF4 started north of Bay in Craighead County and went through Monette and Leachville.
Straight-line winds and ice storms put wood on the ground too. Wind shears limbs across a whole neighborhood at once. Ice loads limbs until they split. That kind of damage covers a wide area instead of one narrow path.
The land here changes what the cleanup looks like. Wooded lots on Crowley's Ridge have big hardwoods over the houses, so a storm drops whole trees into yards. Out in the Delta the damage spreads along field edges, windbreaks, fence rows and ditch banks. We come over from Monette either way.
What has to leave goes out on the dump trailer. Brush small enough to grind runs through the drum mulcher and stays on the ground as mulch. That saves a trip for the small stuff and puts cover back on bare dirt.
After a big storm, some Arkansas cities and counties open a debris drop-off site or run a curbside pickup. Tree debris usually has to stay separate from building material. Burn bans are set by county judges here, and the Forestry Division posts which counties are under one. Burning that debris can also take a notice or a permit, so ask the county first.
